Ceiling Fans

Ceiling fan installation in San Diego. Quiet, balanced, code-right.

A ceiling fan is the cheapest cooling improvement most San Diego homes can make, but only when it's installed right. We use fan-rated boxes, proper bracing through the joists, and balance every blade so the fan doesn't wobble or hum.

What do homeowners ask about Ceiling Fans?

How much does ceiling fan installation cost in San Diego?

Replacing a fan or light fixture with a fan when there's already a fan-rated box in place runs $185 to $295. New installs that need a fan-rated box added or a switch run cost $325 to $625 depending on attic access. We bring the box, hardware, and bits. You provide the fan.

Why does my ceiling fan wobble?

Three usual causes: bent blades or unbalanced blade weights, a loose downrod or canopy connection, or a non-fan-rated box that flexes under fan vibration. We diagnose and fix all three. A balanced fan should be silent and motionless from below.

Do I need a fan-rated box?

Yes. Standard light-fixture boxes are not rated for the dynamic load of a fan and can pull free of the joist over time, dropping the fan. Code requires a fan-rated box for any ceiling fan. We replace non-rated boxes during install when needed.

Can you install a fan on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?

Yes. Vaulted ceilings need a sloped-ceiling adapter and a downrod sized for the slope angle. Most fan brands sell the adapter as an accessory; we'll source it if you don't have one.

Can you add a wall switch for a fan that only has pull chains?

Usually yes. It depends on whether there's a switch leg already run to the box. If yes, we install a fan/light combo switch at the wall and disable the pull chains. If no, we either run a switch or install a remote.

Our 1960s Federal Pacific panel was flagged by our home inspector. Bright Pro pulled the permit, swapped it for a 200-amp modern panel, and had us back online by end of day. Insurance premium dropped the next month.
