Outdoor Lighting

Outdoor and landscape lighting in San Diego.

San Diego homes spend half their life outdoors. Path lights that frame a walkway, uplights that turn a palm into a landmark, and security floods at the right places change how a home feels and how safe it is. We design and install, line-voltage and low-voltage both, with weather-rated wire and fixtures that last.

What do homeowners ask about Outdoor Lighting?

How much does landscape lighting cost in San Diego?

A typical front-yard package (transformer, 8 path lights, 2 uplights, control timer) runs $1,400 to $2,400 installed. Larger systems with 20+ fixtures and multiple zones run $3,500 to $5,500+. Per-fixture add-ons run $145 to $325 each. Free design walkthrough.

Should I do line-voltage or low-voltage outdoor lighting?

Low-voltage (12V) is the standard for landscape lighting: safer to work near, easier to expand, and the fixture options are far better. Line-voltage (120V) is used for floodlights, exterior outlets, and structural lighting. Most installs use both for the right purposes.

How long do landscape lights last?

Quality LED low-voltage fixtures last 10–15 years. Cheap big-box fixtures last 2–4 years before lens fogging or LED failure. We install brands that hold up (FX Luminaire, Kichler, Vista) at fair pricing.

Can you install pool or spa lighting?

Yes. Pool and spa lighting must be installed by a licensed electrician and meet specific NEC requirements for bonding, GFCI, and equipotential grounding. We follow code and pull the permit when one is required.

Can the lighting be on a smart timer?

Yes. Most systems use astronomical clocks that adjust on/off times to actual sunrise and sunset year-round. Lutron Caseta and Hampton Bay app-based timers are also options. We pick based on what fits the rest of your home.

Our 1960s Federal Pacific panel was flagged by our home inspector. Bright Pro pulled the permit, swapped it for a 200-amp modern panel, and had us back online by end of day. Insurance premium dropped the next month.

Panel Upgrade Encinitas

Installed a Tesla Wall Connector on a 60-amp circuit with a clean conduit run along the garage wall. Helped me file the SDG&E rebate paperwork. Charges my Model Y from empty overnight with no issues.

EV Charger Install Poway

We bought a 1940s craftsman with knob-and-tube wiring. Bright Pro rewired the whole house over 5 days without tearing up any plaster walls. Crew cleaned up every night. Insurance dropped the exclusion.
