You just took delivery of a Tesla and want overnight charging
A Gen 3 Wall Connector on a 60-amp breaker and 6 AWG copper is the usual Tesla setup, about 44 miles of range per hour on a Model 3 or Y. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is slower and uses the Mobile Connector. The house is still on 100-amp service
That does not automatically mean a 200-amp swap. A load calculation, a lower Wall Connector amperage setting, or a load-management EVSE can keep the existing service. The quote should show the math, not assume the upgrade.
The charger has to reach a detached garage or an outside wall
That is a permitted feeder, conduit, and often a disconnect, not a garage-wall mount. Trenching, weatherheads, and voltage drop change the job. The electrician walks the run before quoting.
Two Teslas will share one circuit
Gen 3 units can power-share on one correctly sized home run. Two separate 60-amp circuits is the expensive way. The home run still has to be sized for the full shared load, not split in half.

Hardwired or plug-in (NEMA 14-50)?
Hardwired is safer at higher amperage (40A+), required by code in some installs, and looks cleaner. Plug-in is slightly more flexible if you move the charger. We default to hardwired for 48A+ installs and let you pick for 32–40A.
How long is the install?
